Special thanks to all our volunteers as the Life Rolls On La Jolla Shores event was a record setter.  Over 120 disabled children and adults, over 650 volunteers and of course "Team Pink" was rockin' with Rotarians, Rotaractors & Interactors.

On August 19th University of California San Diego Rotaract members descended upon White Plains Beach (Ewa Beach) with Rotarians from the Waikiki, Honolulu & Downtown Honolulu Rotary Clubs along with family members for a beach clean up and learn to surf event.  Special thanks to Assistant District Governor of District 5000 and Surfers Unite Board Member Sean Slentz and Vice President of Surfers Unite Rotarian Fellowship Ian "Akahi" Masterson for organizing the event.  Check out the photos below:

#RICON18 in Toronto was equally amazing as the 14th Annual Switchfoot BroAM.  Read the latest and invite others to get "on board" with the fastest growing Rotary Fellowship on the planet, Surfers Unite Rotarian Fellowship.

The June issue has been sent to members and potential members but you can click on the link and download it here too.  Learn about recent SURF events on Oahu and San Diego.  If you're going to RICON Toronto you must stop by Booth #232 to get your photo taken and pick up some cool swag from Surfers Unite Rotarian Fellowship.  Also to all Rotarians, Rotaractors and Interactors in the SoCal area and beyond be sure to visit the SURF tent June 30th at the 14th Annual Switchfoot BroAM at Moonlight Beach in Encinitas.  This event is free however you can buy raffle prize items, support other local vendors and support the cause as we help raise over $220k for local charities.  The BroAM features surf contests, surf jousting (yes you will be entertained as people whack each other with sticks on foamies) and of course 5 hours of live music from several bands including Switchfoot.  Never been before?  Watch this link, share it with friends and come on down and visit the Surfers Unit crew who are serving and volunteering:

Thanks to Board Member Sean Slentz, Vice President Ian "The Surf Professor" Masterson and several Lifetime Members things on Oahu are heating up.  No folks, not talking about lava though there are plenty of ways we can help on the Big Island right now.

This Thursday, May 24th from 5PM to 9PM Ian will be discussing the History of Surfing at the Treehouse Kailua.  Purchase tickets in advance and bring some friends.

Address: 74 Kihapai Street Kailua, HI 96734

Ian and the crew also have an event this Saturday including a Hawaiian BBQ & Surf event so "Get on board" and be part of the action.

The City 2 Surf event at Del Mar was a great success.  SURF members long with over 25 volunteers took over 80 inner city kids surfing and worked with them to do arts & crafts.  This is the 6th year of this event through Hope Leadership Academy and we were blessed to have NFL Running Back Donald Brown share words of encouragement with the kids during lunch.  Donald played for the Indianapolis Colts, San Diego Chargers and New England Patriots.  Not sure if Donald can surf but we're willing to take him anytime.

Over 400 photos in the Google Photo Album.

1st Group of surfers included SURF Members Brett Mattei, Emmy Ibrahimovic, Brett Morey and friends in the surfing community Gary Giffin, Jacker Landers Anna Weltman.
