By now you have probably seen our social media posts...you know the one that said our Degree 33 Surfboards Team with support from Surfers Unite Rotarian Fellowship members is closing in on $40k raised, the one that said with 210 surfers they will break $400k for this fabulous non-profit.  Well maybe you missed that and a few pics.  It was a fantastic event and we so appreciate the UCHS Interact students who came to serve as volunteers, the countless Rotarians who donated to help us achieve these goals and all of our friends in the surf community for recognizing that it is from investing in the young lives of our teenage boys that we can change hearts and change lives.  Shakas to all the mentors who donate their time weekly and meet with at risk youth.  "The mentors are the real heroes.  Catching 101 waves sure isn't easy but neither is making a decision to live a purpose driven life."

Big Kahuna Lifetime Member Vince Ponce of the Rotary Club of Carlsbad Hi-Noon stopped by to cheer on the Degree 33 Surfboard team along with Paul Ambrogio as Kevin Frost competed yet again.  These guys are awesome!

210 Surfers helped make the 10th Annual 100 Wave Challenge the most successful event yet for Boys to Men Mentoring Foundation.  Thank you for all who supported this year's event.  You can make contributions at:

Really great experience on a Live Feed on Sunday morning as Danica McAdams of NBC San Diego interviewed our Founder, Brett Morey at the Life Rolls On event at La Jolla Shores.  We want to encourage our Surfers Unite members to get involved in each of the surfing and skateboarding events that Life Rolls On Foundation puts on for disabled children and adults.  Make sure to check out the clip as well as the LRO site.

Still gathering photos from all who attended the 7th Annual Rotary MusiCamp Learn to Surf event but clearly you can tell these amazing musicians had a terrific time as did all of our incredible volunteers.   If you have pics upload them to our link below.  If you missed out sign up for our next event.

Special thanks to Big Kahuna Lifetime member Vince Ponce of the Rotary Club of Carlsbad Hi-Noon for picking up and dropping off all surfboards from SurfRide Solana Beach, SurfRide for donating the dozen INT Surfboards to use for our event, Pizza Port in Solana Beach for the grub, the Lifeguards for the City of Solana Beach, Big Kahuna Dr. Gary Schneiderman of the Rotary Club of La Jolla Golden Triangle for taking photos (we cannot wait to get these uploaded), photographers April & Maddie Giffin, all our volunteers in the water including: 15th Street Del Mar Crew members Gary Giffin & Taffi Parrish, Rotarian Mike Stock, Hamilton Bolton, Craig Leach, Lifetime Member & Rotary Club of Del Mar President 2019-20 Brett Mattei, Lifetime Member Danny Quisenberry of the RC of Carlsbad Hi-Noon, Griffin Barnett and of course our Founder, Chair and Big Kahuna Lifetime Member Brett Morey, Past President of the Rotary Club of La Jolla Golden Triangle.  This event would not be possible without Rotarians in District 5340 and the leadership of Surfers Unite member Gary McElroy and his wife Carol of the Rotary Club of San Diego Downtown Breakfast.  This was the 15th year of the Rotary MusiCamp and these international symphony musicians will always remember the love and generosity of those who showed them around "America's Finest City" opened their hearts and homes and yes, those who took them surfing while in California.

Well folks, no other way to say it but our volunteers made a huge impact at this years 2019 Nissan Supergirl Pro.  We helped with set-up, all throughout the venue during the three days from the Athletes Tent, VIP and Sponsor Tents, Influencers, setting up things back stage for the artists, photography, enhancing through social media and yes even Parking Attendants.  Thank you to all involved.  Here is a massive photo gallery thanks to contributions from our Founder Brett Morey, fellow Big Kahuna Vince Ponce and our good buddy David Frerker of San Diego Sports Domination.  Download and share, all we ask is that you give photo credit and tag as #SURFSurfersUnite

Your 2019 Supergirl Pro winner was 17 year old Samantha Sibley of San Clemente who beat Tatiana Weston Webb in the Final.  It was epic!  Way to go Sam, congrats on becoming the youngest winner to wear the cape.  Photo credit: B. Morey Nikon D3300
