We have a request from the Supergirl Pro for a select group of volunteers to assist with the annual event in Oceanside. This is a QS event and if you have never been you will see many of the top women surfers in the world as well as a really fun exhibition of skateboarders as well. It is awesome! If interested please register right away on our site as well as the link below: https://drive.google.com/open?id=1Ug8XUDLwQIbDPGBEQ238Mqveyc9NpPFCD6s9JBgwKWA
Hands down one of our favorite surfers on the planet, Sage Erickson of Ojai, CA. Sage is a two time winner of the Supergirl Pro and competes on the WSL. Go get'em Sage!
Please join us for our 7th Annual Rotary MusiCamp Learn to Surf event as we take 24 talented international symphony musicians surfing in Solana Beach. Don't miss the grub from Pizza Port...enough said, right? Sign up today to participate and volunteer.
This event will be limited to 14-15 kids selected by the San Diego Regional Center and include children with Autism or Down Syndrome. The event will be sponsored by the Rotary Club of Encinitas Coastal and Surfers Unite Rotarian Fellowship. If interested in volunteering please register here. We would also like to thank Uriah Mirandon of Surf Sessions for assisting us with boards and wetsuits for the participants. Note, we need to limit both the participants and the volunteers for this event given the permit required as well as nature of the event in working with young adults with special needs. We will likely limit the number of volunteers to 8-10 individuals so thank you for your understanding. Any questions? Contact Brett Morey at 858-602-2532
Don’t miss an opportunity to volunteer and financially support Boys to Men Mentoring Foundation. The 10th Annual 100 Wave Challenge is on and last year team members of Surfers Unite helped the Degree 33 Surfboard crew break $40k!
Sept 21st at Mission Beach
The Life Rolls On La Jolla Shores event will now be held on Sunday, Sept. 22 at La Jolla Shores. Registration on their site opens on August 7th so watch for updates and get ready to join Team Pink for a fun day as we take 120 disabled children and adults surfing. https://liferollson.org/lajolla
Okay friends we are still working as a team with the HOC and Rotary International but here is the plan:
We are going to create a large and fun Paddle Out for Polio event during Pre-Convention to raise funds and awareness for the End Polio Now campaign. What's involved? Rotarians, Rotaractors, Interactors, family & friends paddling out at Waikiki on surfboards, SUP boards and for those requiring extra assistance Outriggers. We will form a huge circle surrounding a End Polio Now banner floating on the ocean and a drone will capture it all including those gathered on the shoreline to throw lays and cheer everyone on. It will be magical and it defines what makes Surfers Unite Rotarian Fellowship so meaningful to so many around the globe. Sign up today and we will keep you in the loop concerning board rentals, donations directly to End Polio Now etc. Lot's to come so stay connected.
A link with instructions for tax deductible donations directly paid to the End Polio Now campaign will be added below. Stay tuned.
